The  package   is  bundled  in  a   CD   with  a  installer  program   and  all  you  need to  do  is  to  click the  file  called setup.exe . This  program will  automatically  install  the  entire  package to  your  chosen  folder  and  create  a  icon  named  “CEMS”.  To run  the  package  you  have  to  just hit  this  icon . It  will  be  very  handy  for  you  to  create  a  shortcut  in  your  desktop.

The  entire  package  is  divided  into  6  modules  which  are  i) Notification , ii)Cbec  Circulars/Instruction ,iv) Cegat ,v)High Court and  vi) Supreme  Court .All  of these  will  be  visible  as  the  main  menu  once  the  index  is  clicked .

When  the  Notification  menu is  clicked  it  will  open  submenu containing  “General  Scan  “. General Scan will  open up  another  window showing  the  contents   chronologically  under  the  headings of  ‘No.’,  ‘Date’ , ‘, ‘Issue Text ‘. The General scan module will  generate a  window giving contents  featuring  ‘Notification No’ . ‘Date’, ‘,  ‘Issue Text’ (brief issue ) , ‘,  ‘Reported in’ (references)  and  the main issues . Using this module  you can  either  track a  particular notification  either by  directly  inputting the notification no. date ,category etc  in  the  specified  fields  opened up  by  clicking  the  selected view  module  in  top  bar    or  by    searching year wise . As  regards  the  categories  of  “Issue wise “  and  “ Commodity wise “  operation  is  same  as  discussed about   Trade  notice

As for  Cbec  Circulars  same  process may  be  applied  for  retrieving   information . In “General Scan “ you can directly hit upon a  particular  circular if  you know  the  details  such as  the no  and  date of  that  particular  circular . By  inputting  the details  in  the  specified field  obtained  by  clicking  the  selected view  module . You  can  also  go  through  the entire contents  chronologically  posted  covering  period  since 1992 . Here  you  have  an  option  of  year wise  scan also  as  with  the    Notification . For  “Issue wise”  .

Now  we  have  the  judgement  section  .  In  this  section  we  covered  three  levels of  judgements  as  we have  already said .These  are  Cegat, High Court  and  Supreme Court  judgements and  all of  these  are  visible  in  the  main  menu  when  you  click  the  “Index”  module  in  the  top  bar .Categories of  scan and  search and  the process  for  retrieval  of    information  are  same  for  all  these  3  types  of  cases .  By  just  hitting  any  of   these  categories  a  list  of  submenus  will  come  up  and  it  will  show  you   areas   available  for  browsing  which are  “ General Scan “,“ Issue  wise “ ,  and  “ Company wise “

As  in  the  above  cases  if  you  are  looking  for  a  particular  judgement  you  need  to  click  the  “General scan “ option  and  fill  in  the  ELT  references   in  the  specified  field  opened  up  for you  when  you hit  the  Selected view option  comes up when you  hit  utility  visible in  the  top  bar .   As  in  the  above  cases  every time  the “ General scan “  is  clicked  a  window  will  open  up  containing  the  contents of  cases  available  chronologically .Contents  are  elaborated under  the  headings of   ‘Reported in’ (references),’ Parties names ‘, . Issue Text ‘(brief issues) ,’Year’ ,main  issues (broad categories) etc. Option  of  browsing  year wise is also  available here .

In  all  the categories   you need  to  first   select  from  the  list   by  pressing  the  left button  on  the  mouse  and  then  releasing  it  in  the  contents  window .And  after  double clicking  any  one from  the  contents  will  take  you  to  the  main  window containing  the  entire  judgement .In the  main  window  you  will  notice  there  are  2  buttons  titled ‘Close’ and   ‘Print’  . The close  button  will  take  you  back  to  previous  window  and  the ‘Print ‘ button will  print  the  matter.
